My hair was colored almost a year ago and before I made my decision, I talked to multiple sisterlock consultants and sisterlock sistas who already had colored locs for advice. I am extremely happy that I decided to color my sisterlocks. With this change, my hair confidence went up even higher. In this post, I'll share how to kn[...]

I didn’t realize how overwhelmed and burnt out I h I didn’t realize how overwhelmed and burnt out I had been until I finally slowed down this year. Once I allowed myself to stop running on empty and actually listen to what my body needed, I was like 🫨🤔. The slower mornings, the me-time before my household woke up, the cozy evenings with fun hobbies, and the soft nighttime wind-downs started to matter in a way they never had before.

That’s what brought me to this point. And going forward, I’m intentionally choosing softness and giving myself permission to slow down all of 2026 🎊🍾🪩. If you’ve been running on empty too, let this be your reminder that you’re allowed to slow down and choose a softer way. You don’t have to “earn” rest or peace.

I hope you have a happy new year filled with ease, softer moments, and the freedom to move at your own pace. And if you are also choosing a softer 2026, follow @latashagirdy so we can support each other!

Look what I made! This was my cozy hobby for Decem Look what I made! This was my cozy hobby for December and I can’t be happier about how it turned out since this was my first time ever doing punch needling. I learned a lot while doing this and I feel so much softer and creative afterwards. It took me a minute to get the hang of it at first, and I did have to watch a video, but once I got going, it was so easy. Kinda obsessed and ready to do another!

Has anyone else tried punch needling before? I’m wondering if it’s easier or harder than knitting/crocheting because those are definitely on my cozy hobby bucket list too.
